Updated: Apr 25, 2020
Voting is an incredibly powerful way to protect the planet. View our guide on registering to vote online and by mail. Remember, democracy doesn't work unless we use it!

Why is it Important to Register to Vote?
Voting is the foundation of our democracy and affects every aspect of our society – from the local to the global. Now more than ever we need to ensure that our elected leaders share our values and priorities. The single most effective way we do this is through the act of voting. Unfortunately, roughly 20% of eligible voters are not registered to vote. It’s never too late to become an active voter. And even if you are registered, it’s always good to double check that your information is up to date.
In 2016, 92 million eligible voters did not cast their ballot, nearly 40% of the voting age population.
